2020 Company Summary and 2021 Company Plan

——Shan Ning

As per our usual practice in previous years, we’d hold our annual meeting before the Spring Festival. However, due to the pandemic, our annual meeting has been canceled. So today, taking advantage of our morning meeting, I’d like to review last year’s work with everyone and together look forward to the company’s development in 2021.
First, on behalf of the company, I’d like to extend New Year’s greetings to everyone. Wishing you a happy and joyful Spring Festival, as well as health and happiness.

I. 2020 Company Summary:

Speaking of last year—2020—what everyone remembers most vividly is the COVID-19 pandemic that swept across the globe. Everyone started wearing masks, getting PCR tests, and checking their travel codes on their phones wherever they went. This pandemic had a severe impact on both China’s economy and the global economy. Many wineries had originally planned to invest in bottling equipment, but then the pandemic hit suddenly. With people unable to gather or drink together, alcohol consumption was severely affected, and wines and spirits simply couldn’t be sold. Naturally, there was no talk at all of purchasing bottling equipment. Before the New Year, a winery owner told me that their company had produced wine in 2019, originally planning to sell out all their stock by the 2020 Spring Festival. But then the pandemic struck, and because people couldn’t gather or visit each other, it took until the Mid-Autumn Festival of 2020 before they finally managed to clear their inventory.
Faced with the sudden outbreak of the epidemic and the economic situation, our company has taken a series of measures.
First, our company has significantly reduced prices twice in a row. Our brand, Qilu, is an established brand with a 30-year history. Our company is large-scale and boasts consistently high product quality. As soon as we lowered our prices, sales quickly surged. In 2020, sales of mid- to low-end products nearly doubled on average, with some products even seeing increases of close to double. At the same time, we’ve been actively exploring new markets, successively entering sectors such as disinfectants, automotive urea, and pharmaceuticals. By developing these new markets, we’ve ensured that, despite the shrinking liquor market, our company’s sales continue to maintain steady growth. All departments within our company have followed the company’s guiding principles and taken proactive measures, achieving remarkable progress over the past year and making indelible contributions to our company’s development.
Over the past year, what has given me the greatest satisfaction is that our company has neither taken extended holidays nor carried out layoffs, and we’ve never delayed wage payments. Not only have we avoided cutting salaries, but we’ve even raised wages for some employees. This kind of situation is quite rare among enterprises in Qingzhou City. At the same time, all our land and factory facilities are owned by our company, and the enterprise hasn’t taken a single penny in loans—this strong financial position provides solid assurance that our business can continue to operate smoothly and normally.
The achievements our company has made over the past year are the result of the joint efforts of all our employees and the concerted cooperation among all departments within our company. On behalf of the company, I would like to extend our warmest condolences and heartfelt gratitude to all our employees who have worked diligently in their respective positions over the past year, as well as to the families and friends of our employees who have quietly supported the company’s development!

II. 2021 Company Plan:

While we’ve achieved certain accomplishments, we must also soberly recognize the difficulties and challenges facing our company’s development and squarely confront the gaps and shortcomings that still exist within ourselves. Last year, our sales department lost some long-standing clients and failed to secure several major orders. The pace of our product R&D and experimentation still needs further improvement. Moreover, our production capacity remains insufficient, often forcing us to rely on overtime work. As we enter the new year, we must remain fully aware that the pandemic has not yet completely subsided and could very well make a resurgence, continuing to exert significant impacts on the economy. At the same time, the U.S.-China economic and trade conflict is intensifying, bringing with it considerable uncertainty in China’s market.
Faced with a complex market situation, we need to do the following:
First, we will further refine our product portfolio. Our company’s existing products have already entered 16 different industries, including baijiu, wine, yellow wine, medicinal liquor, pharmaceuticals, seasonings, oils, water, beverages, disinfectants, automotive urea, daily chemical products, oral liquids, beer, and pesticides. Among these 16 industries, we initially entered the market by focusing on filling equipment. After establishing a solid foothold in the market, we’ve begun expanding into upstream and downstream equipment—such as de-palletizers, case packers, and palletizers. As long as we can truly develop and grow the markets in these 16 industries, our future market prospects will be extremely promising.
Second, we must clearly define our product positioning to ensure that our products are both “reaching for the sky and standing firm on the ground.” “Reaching for the sky” means positioning our products in the high-end market, aligning them with global standards, and benchmarking against top-tier German and Italian brands such as Krones and KHS. Currently, many large domestic and international enterprises are already using our equipment on their high-end production lines. After years of accumulating experience in the high-end market, our company’s technology has steadily narrowed the gap with that of leading brands. Going forward, we will further increase our R&D investment to strive for an early breakthrough in filling equipment technology. “Standing firm on the ground” means bringing our products to the mid- and low-end markets. Leveraging our extensive experience and advanced technology, we will continuously refine and optimize our medium- and small-scale equipment. Last year, due to the impact of the pandemic, our company reduced prices twice and achieved impressive sales results. This year, we’ve decided to lower prices even further, enabling more small and medium-sized enterprises to access high-quality, reliable equipment at prices comparable to those of small filling equipment manufacturers in Qingzhou—and even nationwide.
Third, the construction of a new factory building. After years of development, the company’s existing workshop can no longer meet production demands. This shortfall in productivity has directly led to frequent overtime work for many employees and is also hindering the company’s further growth. After careful consideration from multiple angles, the company has decided to renovate and rebuild the workshop. The two rear workshops will be upgraded and expanded into two-story structures. The western workshop on the north side is expected to be put into operation by mid-2021, while the eastern workshop will be operational by the end of 2021. The new workshop will adhere to international standards, be highly standardized, and embrace modernization, with the goal of becoming a state-of-the-art, advanced facility. In addition, the parking lot at the southwest corner of the company will also undergo renovation and reconstruction. The plan is to transform it into a two-level underground parking facility with two levels above ground, allowing vehicles to be parked underground beneath the workshop in the future, thus protecting them from wind, sun, and weather exposure.
At Qilu Packaging Machinery, we believe that a company’s achievements are the collective result of everyone’s efforts, and these achievements should be shared by all. Our company always puts the happiness and well-being of every employee first. Through measures such as performance evaluations and recognition programs, we strive to enhance the income and benefits of our outstanding employees. At the same time, our company provides a platform where every Qilu employee can fully showcase their talents. We aim to build our company into an open, fair, and just environment—ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to compete fairly and that talented, ambitious employees can truly put their abilities to good use.
Finally, I wish everyone a happy New Year, happiness for your entire family, good health, and every wish fulfilled!
Thank you, everyone!

Good deeds and good people Awarding the winners

The power of role models in the ordinary is boundless, and the heroic spirit embodied in simplicity is all the more precious. With your ordinary acts, you shine a light on our times; your unwavering commitment makes every person from Qilu feel the warmth of this big family, turning love and dedication into the dominant theme of social harmony.

From the early morning of December 28 to 29 last year, a sudden heavy snowfall blanketed the Qilu region in a pristine silver cloak. The biting cold wind carried swirling snowflakes. Although everyone knew the roads were slippery and difficult to navigate, this did not dampen their enthusiasm for coming to work. At seven o’clock sharp, Lü Yongjun, Ma Jinliang, Bian Xingguo, Yao Kun, Wang Tongyu, Dai Mingjin, Wei Zhongxiang, Ding Shuli, Yin Shichang, Ge Yanjun, Lü Zengshan, Chai Xiuling, and others arrived at the company early, spontaneously forming a snow-clearing team and clearing a neat path for colleagues who would arrive later in the day. In particular, Wei Zhongxiang and Chai Xiuling spent the entire morning tirelessly sweeping the area around the company entrance to prevent icy conditions from forming. Their diligent and proactive spirit is truly worthy of emulation by all of us. Of course, many other colleagues joined the snow-clearing effort later on as well—your dedicated efforts have left an indelible impression on our minds. For this, the company would like to extend special recognition and praise to each of you.
With the arrival of the New Year and a fresh start, on January 1, 2021, three of our company’s after-sales service staff—Liu Peng, Tian Weigang, and Wang Nengshuang—were still on business trips, ensuring that several customer projects continued to run smoothly. They gave up their rest and missed opportunities to reunite with their families, steadfastly staying at their posts. Among them, after-sales service staff Liu Peng and Tian Weigang have been on business trips for several months already, while Master Wang Nengshuang even proactively took on the challenging task of field debugging just before the holidays. Their spirit of proactive initiative and willingness to work tirelessly without complaint is truly worthy of emulation by every Qilu employee.
Congratulations to all the award-winning employees! We’d also like to thank everyone for your hard work and contributions to the company’s development!
